Fashion can be torture, but at The Chapar we’re all about taking the hassle away from looking good. This month we’ve been thinking about existing and upcoming trends, so you can put your best foot (sandals are going to be BIG this summer) forward in 2019.
Don’t: Dark Denim
Do: Double Denim
Light wash denim has been gaining more and more popularity over the years. Although most of us are used to a darker wash, 2019 is the year to try something new and experiment with toning things down. Taking a look at blue denim, lighter washes surpassed darker shades ever so slightly by 1.08%. Looks like you guys are already ahead of the trend 😉
Putting two and two together
It’s perfect timing too, as not only is lighter wash denim just as versatile as its more familiar friend, but double denim is on the rise again. Well, if we’re being honest, it never really left the table. This year expect to see double denim and two pieces hit the streets in full force. Taking notes from traditional suiting and slapping on an unconventional twist, you can jump on the wagon by introducing different fabrics, colours and cuts to your co-ord.
From co-ord to corduroy
You can expect to continue seeing corduroy in 2019 until summer hits. Sales were up 8% last year here due to the popularity of the ridged velvet fabric and if you ask us, we think this will rise again in AW19 as our Stylists love it! Here’s what Senior Stylist Ellis has to say:

A corduroy shirt worn open over a tee with jeans is perfect for laid back urban style. For a smarter look, pair slim corduroy trousers with a crisp shirt and great pair of leather boots.”
It’s easier than ever to be green.
The colour green has been dominating not only our trunks (we sold 6% more green in 2018 than 2017) but also the runways of mens fashion events since 2017 when Pantone announced it as their colour of the year. It’s set to stick with us for some time too as London Fashion Week Mens 2019 was filled with shades of the colour with a particular focus on Sage from the likes of Craig Green, Cottweiler and Wood Wood amongst a host of others.
Roll up, roll up.
Flashing a bit of ankle has been rising in vogue for lads as of late after taking over women’s fashion. It’s a great way to add a bit of character to your outfit with a whacky pair of socks or offering a little extra breeze in the summer. Equally, cropped or rolled up legs look great with a pair of boots. Why not try going one length shorter next time you get your Stylist to send a pair of jeans? These lengths, they are a shortenin’
